1O MORE THINGS YOU MISSED OUT ON #IGNITEMF10 DAY 2
It's our second and final day of #IGNITEMF10, there's no reason you should not be here! But in case you have to bring your cat to the dentist, or were dragged to a family gathering, no worries fam. We've gotchu covered.
1. MOTUS GOT IT RIGHT ON STAGE
The sun was hot but the main stage was set ablaze by the 16-piece outfit, MOTUS! They made the crowd boogie with a cover of Shaggy's I Need Your Love - the very same song that clinched their spot as IGNITE! Band Auditions 2017 winners. The batucada funk ensemble also performed originals like the upbeat Get It Right and unreleased songs like Overdue and Tie Dye Boy.
2. BAKERS IN SPACE
The boys from Bakers in Space were out of this world! They started their set with Fools & Liars and also played headbanging hits like Miss Conception and Autumn from their recently released EP - Implosions. One thing's for sure, they were exploding and imploding on stage.
3. ATC HAS EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL
Despite being in the scene for 11 years, Amateur Takes Control finally made their debut on our IGNITE! stage. The instrumental rock band performed songs such as Mexican Cartel Bridges and Juggalo Pugs. They ended their set with a high as the crowd was headbanging to Communication Downbreak. It's safe to say that they should brand themselves as Pros Take Control.
If you've never been to iLight, don't worry! We've got our super chio photobooth set up by our very own campaigns team just for you.
6. IGNITE! GOT YOUTHWRECKED
They say third time's the charm, that's why we brought in YouthWreck for their third IGNITE! The grunge rock trio played their classics like Stay Alive and The Window and even teased the fans with a song called You Are Such A Disgrace from their upcoming album. They said that coming to IGNITE! is like homecoming to them, but you guys are home to us.
7. XINGFOO&ROY, WILL YOU BE OUR ANCHOR FOREVER?
Don't mistake Xingfoo&Roy for a duo, they're actually a three-piece emo post-rock band! They got the crowd hot on their feet performing Kahlua and Marla Singer Smokes Winston Reds from their new EP - 10 Dating Tips for The Spineless Youth Addicted to Photography. And how could they end their set without performing a song inspired by a certain beer brand, Anchor Forever?
8. LADY GAGA WHO? WE GOT TIRAMISU!
We had to end #IGNITEMF10 with a bang, so of course we had to have THELIONCITYBOY. He started his set with a wet HRLY and got the crowd going crazy with 10:30 and his latest song Start Already. You can't argue with us on this - THELIONCITYBOY is the ONLY way to end a festival.
Since the very beginning, we always envisioned IGNITE! Music Festival to be a fully student-run festival. We won't even get to come to our 10th anniversary if not for our #IGNITEBESTCREWEVER. To everyone - from the marketing guerrillas, down to the executive committee - thank you for all that you've done to make #IGNITEMF10 a success!
